Additional Guidelines
Review Guidelines:

The most effective reviews are personal and should reflect members’ experiences. They should offer a rich narrative, detail, and a helpful tip or two for other members. Here are some additional considerations for conscientious reviewers:

Personal Experience:

Share your personal experience, not what you heard from others or saw in the news. Tell your own story without resorting to broad generalizations and conclusory allegations.

Accuracy:

Ensure your review is factually correct. Feel free to express your opinions but avoid exaggeration or misrepresentation. We don’t take sides in factual disputes, so we expect you to own your review.

Payment Extraction:

Writing a review should be informative and meant to help the broader TSG/SwotsUp community. Threatening to post or remove a negative review to extract payment from a business is strictly not allowed and will result in removal from TSG/SwotsUp communities and SwotsUp.

Updates/Edits to Posts:

Updates should reflect a new experience or interaction with the business. Avoid continually posting about the same old story. If you want to add new insight to an old experience, you can edit your review as per the platform’s standard policy.

Photo and Video Guidelines

Photos and videos should be broadly relevant to the business/restaurant and reflect the consumer experience (e.g., what the business looks like, what it offers, etc.). Here are some additional considerations:

Keep it Relevant for Other Members:

We may remove a photo or video showcasing a unique personal experience that isn’t relevant to other people from the photo library for the business. However, it may appear alongside your review if you write one about the business.

Keep it Clean:

No imagery of violence, drug use, nudity, near nudity, or suggestive acts, even if those images accurately represent the business’s services or products, is allowed on TSG/SwotsUp.

Keep it Friendly:

Don’t use your photos or videos to attack or disparage others. Choose your words carefully and make your point in a review, direct message, or review response.

Community Guidelines

Use your account profile to let other members know who you are and about your interests. Community members want to read reviews from people they know and trust, not those with profiles that are empty or laced with inappropriate content.

User Profiles:

Since trust and transparency are important, disruptive anonymous members will be dealt with more sternly than those who stand behind their words. Encourage members to share a little about themselves, but keep it relevant and avoid attacking competitors, reviewers, or TSG/ SwotsUp. Avoid seeding your profile with keywords, special offers, or promotions—we will remove those when we see them.

Consumer Messaging:

TSG/SwotsUp has a convenient messaging feature to keep you connected with fellow community members. Avoid using this feature to harass other users or send inappropriate content. Remember, user profiles are for personal, non-commercial use only.

Ask the Community:

Being able to ask and answer community questions about a business is valuable, but with great power comes great responsibility. Ask clear questions with enough context and details to receive more focused and meaningful answers. For example, topics such as “What is the best biryani place in town” are best discussed in conversations.
